The snows of
Kilimanjaro conjure up images for most of us: Hemingway, big game
safari’s, dark jungles, and the unknown. Mt Kilimanjaro dominates the
landscape of East Africa. At 19,340’ it is the highest mountain on the
continent. For the members of the Prostate Cancer Climb Expedition it is
an opportunity to focus attention on the prostate cancer epidemic and
offer hope to those afflicted with the disease. With global warming, the
snow is melting on Kilimanjaro. But the will of our expedition to overcome
and eradicate prostate cancer is not. Thirty climbers will challenge the
mountain during September, National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, to
raise funds for two non profit organizations:
The
Prostate Awareness Foundation
The
Prostate Cancer Research Institute
OUR GOALS

Place a team of prostate cancer veterans on the summit

Raise $1
million for education, research, and awareness
·
Inspire
men and their families with the knowledge that there is a rich and
rewarding life after diagnosis
